Please note: My mother’s first name was Georgette, and she hated it.
My mother was 19 when I was born. When she was 40 years of age, she did not like me marrying a man only 10 years younger than her. One day, in a heated conversation, she said “……… and he will call me Maman!”
Upon which I replied “That is fine, Maman. He will call you Georgette.”
This did not go over very well!
