UPDATE!!

The Feti ya lelo Program

1:00 pm The Wedding Anniversary

Maurice and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary on June 2, 2007.

The real date is June 1 a Friday, but seeing as we want you all there, we've moved it to June the 2nd, 2007 Saturday.

1:00 pm - we will refresh our wedding vows at the Sainte Anne Chapel in Edmonton.
I will be wearing a Congolese dress, scarf on my head and all.

The chapel is located at the former Grey Nuns Regional Center, 9810 – 165 Street, Edmonton. For directions you can call 780-484-5611 or  click here.

20 Congolese singers will sing in French, Lingala and Kikongo, to the rhythm of tam tams.

We will refresh our vows in French and in English, so you will all understand what we are going to tell each other…. Yes, laughter will be permitted, and cheering the singers is expected.

The evening - Let us have a party, meet friends and colleagues and have a good time together.

An evening of entertainment has been arranged at the Ramada Inn on Kingsway in Edmonton.

We will be in good hands and in good company: I am privileged to be surrounded by terrific people, Maurice included!

Master of Ceremonies  Norm Shaw, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Stage Hypnotist, owner of Hear by Request.
As well as winning the Chamber of Commerce Home Based Business of the Year Award, Hear by Request is the Official DJ Company of the Juno Awards Red Carpet Party and Norm has been the Co-Host of the Red Carpet Party for the fourth time in as many years.  www.hearbyrequest.com .

6:30 pmThe door opens and the cash bar is open too….

Hellos and Hugs

7:00 pm

Headed by  Charlene Balayai Mashala, the party will start with 4 Congolese female dancers performing a Bas-Congo (Lower- Congo) Wedding Dance.

7:45 pm

Mary Stevenson, Clinical Hypnotherapist, will be dancing and singing. A graduate in American Sign Language from a New Hampshire University, Mary will “sign” as she dances and sings. It is gracious and very hypnotic.

8:45 pm

Intermission. Time to enjoy good company and some finger food.

10:00 pm

Boomer Stralak,  www.rivercityhypnosis.com  is the designated Roast Master. Yes, I will let you roast me, and I am sure making myself open to some things. Any ideas? Go ahead and contact mischievous Boomer at www.rivercityhypnosis.com His eyes are sparkling just thinking about it and I know he is up to something.

11.00 pm

Attila will close the evening with a World Class Magic Show. Attila learned Magic Performances in trade school in his native Hungary. Attila came to Canada about 20 years ago. A Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Stage Hypnotist, Attila will be teaching  his Stage Hypnosis Master Class for the twelfth year here at the Hypnotism Training Institute of Alberta , once in April this year and the second time this year in September. Attila also teaches Magic. Attila tells it all at www.attilahypnotist.com

The Congolese who sang at the Chapel will get spontaneously into the dancing mode during intermissions.

This is a good place to publicly thank our very good and dedicated Congolese friends Madeleine Omemba and her husband Justin O’Kongo for their help at connecting us to local Congolese and making this event wonderful and memorable for all of us

Who will be there?

People important to both Maurice and I: Friends, instructors who are teaching specialized hypnosis courses at the Hypnotism Training Institute of Alberta, people who took hypnosis and/or Reiki courses with me, colleagues, as well as suppliers and people I am doing business with for a very long time.
Gisele Reiser who assisted Mat Reiser, her late husband, at starting the Hypnotism Training Institute of Alberta in 1983 will be attending too.

Do invite anyone you wish to accompany you. Bring your camera with you too!

Dress code:

Wear something that makes you look and feel great. I like Canada’s multi-cultural aspect, and if you like to wear something representing your ethnic background, please do so! Since I consider myself coming from Congo, I will be wearing a Congolese dress.

Tickets at the door:

Regardless of age, tickets $35.00 per person in lieu of gift.
Cash, or cheque payable to Anny Slegten.

See you!
